The Policies of Tendring First are as follows:

⋆ To provide strong local leadership in developing the economic prosperity of Tendring.

⋆ To help create the environment for businesses to thrive, whilst maximising and safeguarding job opportunities

⋆ To maintain the lowest Council Tax rate (including precepts) in Essex, but still working to improve services.

⋆ To move over 83% of abandoned vehicles within 24 hours.

⋆ To retain weekly rubbish collection and recycling (against the national trend).

⋆ To remove “fly tipped” waste from public land in 1.35 working days.

⋆ To work together with residents, businesses and our partners to reduce criminal and antisocial behaviour, improving the quality of life for the community and ensuring that we live in a safe area by continuing to work with the Police and PCSOs.

⋆ To enable more people to issue fixed term penalty notices for littering and dog fouling.

⋆ To continue to provide support and advice to the homeless, directly and via our Third Sector Partners.

⋆ To upgrade all children’s play areas across the District with two years.

⋆ To play a central role in regenerating the run-down areas in Harwich, Jaywick and other locations, whilst helping to create better living conditions across Tendring.

⋆ To provide town centres that people can be proud of.

⋆ To encourage healthier lifestyles through investment in top-class leisure facilities and ensure that they are put in places where people want them.

⋆ To work together with NHS North East to ensure the comprehensive provision of our health needs.

⋆ To make sure the educational attainment of our children is raised by working in partnership with our local schools.

⋆ To create the opportunities for our young families to have a home that is affordable.

⋆ To work with local head teachers, employers, trainers and the Council, through the appropriate agencies, to provide vocational training, using a type of apprenticeship scheme where everyone is involved to make sure that it succeeds.

⋆ To fight to retain the open spaces within our District, prevent unnecessary, unwanted road-building and development.
