The Lotus Sutra asserts the inherent dignity and equality of all people and indeed, of all life. Nichiren Daishonin crystallized the teachings of the Lotus Sutra into a concrete philosophy and established a practice suitable for all times. The Soka Gakkai International has made this philosophy accessible to millions of people round the world.
Bharat Soka Gakkai : Bharat Soka Gakkai (BSG) is the Indian affiliate of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), a global association of grassroots organizations that seeks to promote the values of peace and respect for all people based on Nichiren Buddhism. BSG has members throughout India, practicing in such remote places as Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir and Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh, in addition to the thousands of members in major cities and towns in the country. Registered as a society in January 1986, under the Registrar of Societies Act 1860 and working in consonance with the guiding principles of SGI, BSG seeks to create an environment of peace through cultural, educational and community- related activities.
