Yurapik-The Real Dance
We are a traditional Yup'ik dance group with roots from Western, Yup'ik, Alaska.
We adhere to the same guidelines and principles as any Yup'ik village does. This first stems from initiation of dance, Yuraneraq, to teaching and passing of centuries old song and dance.
We, as urban bound interpreters of our oral history strive to represent our ancestors and Yup'ik spirituality with our knowledge to the best of our ability.
