Welcome to Autism in Scotland:- the largest peer-to-peer autism support forum in Scotland! AiS provides a support forum for anyone living in Scotland with, affected by, or working with people with an autistic condition or any of the associated/co-morbid conditions.

Down to the nitty gritty: AiS acknowledges freedom of expression but expects members to balance rights with responsibilities. Among friends we may say and do things which might be deemed inappropriate in public places and this awareness should be applied within this group - this includes the type of language you use, we don't like swearing in AiS. Opinions are just opinions, what works for one may not work for another.

Some members are autistic, this group is not just for parents so please try to be kind and fair to everyone. Inappropriate posts and comments will be removed at the discretion of admin and in some circumstances members will be removed from the group without warning.

When discussing sensitive or negative issues, please refrain from identifying professionals/schools/people, this is a closed group but with the number of members you cannot possibly know everyone. For advice on more sensitive issues you can pm Teresa Catto-Smith.

It is expected members' confidentially will be respected and nothing said in AiS will be discussed outside of the group. This is a closed group so any members found or reported to be discussing AiS posts/members will be banned. Please do not pm or friend request other members (admins are okay!) unless it has been discussed and agreed in a thread. If you get a pm or friend request that bothers you please pm Teresa Catto-Smith.

AiS is a space to talk and therefore to we keep newspaper articles, etc. to a minimum, they are shared on the page. We rarely allow or share petitions and always delete 'motivational' posters as they can often cause arguments or offence.

AiS is not advertising space so please do not advertise or promote things you are involved with - if you have something you want to advertise please pm Teresa Catto-Smith and it will be posted onto the AiS community page here on Facebook, which feeds straight onto Twitter. Strictly no charity fundraisers or businesses are allowed, these posts or comments will be removed.

If you have any concerns or wish to ask something in private please email Teresa Catto-Smith via topcatto@facebook.com or teresa@autisminscotland.com
