A place to share memory's of our wonderful trip to the Basque Country.

The tour started with an overnight bus journey to Portsmouth followed by an overnight sailing to Santander. We then travelled to Segura where we discovered our lovely hostel and the friendly villagers who were determined to make it a trip to remember for us.

After a lovely meal in Idiazabal we settled down for an early start on Friday which saw us head up to San Sebastian to meet the Regional Governor.

After a wonderful performance in the Government building by the Ceilidh Trailers we paraded through the streets of San Sebastian to generous applause before heading back to Segura for a welcome party from the villagers that we will never forget.

Saturday saw us head for Ordizia and take part in a great event in support of the right to self determination which saw the Basques fall in love with us. It also made many of us think about how lucky we are in Scotland not to have a line drawn through the middle of our country

On Sunday we performed at the Nafarroa Oiniez Festival before we had one last night in Segura and set off some Chinese Lanterns which floated away into the night sky.

All too soon it was time go and after a quick visit to Bilboa we made the long journey home.

It was an unforgettable experience and many new friends were made both within our group and far far away in the beautiful Basque Country.

There are too many folk to thank for making it happen - but you know who you are - and you also know how much your efforts were appreciated.

This was a very special tour and those that follow us across the bridge between the Highlands and the Basque Country will have a hell of a job enjoying themselves as much as we did.
