MISSION: The Oklahoma City Herpetological and Invertebrate Society (OCHIS) is an educational 501 (c)(3) nonprofit group dedicated to teaching the public about reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates in an effort to reduce the fears many people have of these animals as well as to encourage future herpers, to promote proper captive husbandry, i.e., care, of these animals, and to encourage conservation practices to preserve these creatures both in the wild and in captivity for future generations. OCHIS holds monthly educational meetings, takes field trips to encounter these animals in the wild, participates in conferences and expos, and puts on educational camps every year. OCHIS membership is free and all ages are welcome!

HOW TO JOIN:
Please understand that these policies have been required by problems with spammers. If we don't know you, we don't know whether or not you are a spammer. So we TRY to find out this way:

1) If you submit a join request, please check for a message from the Admin in your Facebook messages (you may need to check your "other" messages).
2) Respond to the Admin's message to receive approval to join.
3) If the Admins do not send you a message within 48 hours, it may be because your privacy settings do not allow us to message you.
4) If you do not respond to the Admin's message within 48 hours or so, your join request may be deleted, and you will need to resubmit it.
