This group's mission is to lend support to those who have undergone any type of weight loss surgery 3+ years ago. We recognize the challenges that face those who are beyond their "golden years" of weight loss. Whether you got to goal and had regain or didn't get to goal, this is a group who will try to share, empathize and encourage you. I hope we can work together to inspire one another and perhaps, think beyond that number on the scale. Many of us can no longer relate to the rah-rah newbies, our heads are in different places than new post ops. We need to find people we can relate to and understand - this is our safe haven for non judgment and friendship.
We welcome all surgery types.
Please don't ask to join our group if you are not a long timer. This will keep the group for its target audience. Sorry newbies - but we are generally in a darker or different mental place than you are. Our years of glory are over with and it can be a much harder route. You may learn from us in other groups, but this group is just for us.
We believe in talking about real life issues that go along with surgery (not all unicorns and rainbows) so feel free to talk about the difficulties of life as a long term post op.
