The Edinburgh City Bike Schools group aims to increase participation in a wide range of grass roots cycling opportunities for all young people in the City's Secondary Schools.
We intend to do this by enlisting the support and commitment from at least one member of staff in every school who will act as its 'Cycling Champion', disseminating information about events and opportunities and possibly organising small groups of students to attend races etc when possible.
The ECBS is led by Sam Moody who has been seconded from Leith Academy to act as CEC Sustainable Transport Officer and is being supported initially by Active Schools Edinburgh, Sustrans iBike and the Stars funding program along with a few enthusiastic helpers.
