The Eskayan Datahan Ancestral Tribal Union of Sumatra (EDATUS) opens a bi-annual general household royal assembly popularly known as "EDATUS General Household Conference" held every month of May at Barangay Biabas, Guindulman, Bohol Islands, Philippines. This exclusive assembly of Sumatra and Datahan households celebrates and commemorates the heroic acts of the Last Warrior-King of the Eskayan Tribe: HSRM Mariano "Anoy" Sumatra Datahan. His notable legacies to the Eskayan people among with the settlers of Bohol Islands continually shed light in the annals of our Philippine history. It is our honor and cultural pride to keep all his remarkable teachings and careful handling of the Eskayan scripts handed down to our contemporary generation. Indeed, as Eskayan people, we hope and pray that his works will soon be included and duly recognized by the Philippine government in the realms of historical record. To this date, he remain as an "unseen hero" who fought bravely with the foreign occupiers.
EDATUS further conveys a message of peaceful co-existence to all tribes in the Philippine archipelago through the spirit of love and mutual support. Sincerely, the Eskayan people looks forward for the second, third, fourth, and continuing-responsive EDATUS General Household Conference as we collectively and collaboratively endeavor for self-determination reflected in our unique cultural ideals and cherish traditions. As a bi-monthly royal assembly, we envisions to implement equitable projects and programs for the benefit of all Eskayan people. May the spirits of our ancestors through the Divine Guidance of our Most Benevolent LORD GOD bless us all.
