Welcome to P.A.W.S. of Central Louisiana. P.A.W.S. was founded in August 2012 and in October 2012 a Board of Directors was elected, In January 2013 we filed with the state as a non-profit corporation and our 501c3 for non-profit status was filed in March 2013. Our primary goal is to spay and neuter cats and dogs to prevent needless euthanization of shelter animals and to rescue, foster and adopt abandoned, abused and surrendered animals. We have "adopted" Pineville Animal Shelter to promote adoption of their dogs and cats, raising the funds to save and foster as many of the animals as we can that have not been adopted before a scheduled PTS day. We do, however, rescue abandoned dogs in different parishes, and we help in situations where owners can no longer provide care for their pets and their only alternative is to surrender them to the shelter. We believe ALL Parish Animals Are Worth Saving. We are in constant need of donations and volunteers and welcome your help in any way you can. All dogs and cats, young or older, will be spayed or neutered and fully vetted before they are available for adoption beginning February 1, 2013. Our adoption fee for puppies or dogs will be increased to $100 May 1, 2013, due to the fees we pay for the adoption fee from the shelter and the additional HW testing and worming we do. Our adoption fee for kittens or cats is $75. These fees cover the spay/neuter, rabies, all 3 sets of shots, worming and heartworm testing we do for each animal, so these fees are actually better than FREE! Working in the community with stray, surrendered, abandoned and abused dogs and cats can become expensive, and we need both funding in the form of donations and manpower through volunteers, especially foster volunteers. Please support our efforts any way within your means, even if it is by participating in one of our many fundraisers we do throughout the year. Thank you for joining us. If you feel like we do, that all Parish Animals Are Worth Saving, please become more involved. We have a page specifically for cats and kittens, a Volunteer Page, a Foster Page and we also have a Page where we announce our fundraisers. We have meetings the 4th Sunday of the month at Kees Park Community Center at 2:00 P.M. We hope you Don't Breed or Buy While the Homeless Die!

We allow other Rescues and individuals with an animal in need on our page as a courtesy but they must be spayed/neutered or require a spay/neuter contract be signed by whoever adopts the pet, one can be found under files. We do NOT allow animals to be posted for free, and we ask that you do not request a FREE pet on our page. No animal is free if it is properly cared for and if you do not abide by the rules we will remove your post and/or you as a member of the group. Thank you for understanding our position on this very important matter.
