For starters, I'm Cheryl Wimberly (maiden name), daughter of Buford Evans Wimberly of Marble Falls, TX, who's the son of Julia Inez Turner and Ira Andrew Wimberly. Ira Andrew Wimberly is the son of Andrew Perry Wimberly, AND HERE'S WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING! Instead of moving on to Andrew Jackson Wimberly as I'd always assumed, I'm finding that Andrew Perry Wimberly's father was ANDREW LAWSON WIMBERLY instead!

According to Thomas Wimberly of wimfamhistory.net there is also the branch of the Wimberly family who spells their last name with an extra "e" (Wimberley) and claims not to have descended from our John Wimberly (or William Wimberly) but from a Wimberley that imigrated to Savannah, GA from Ireland (or Scotland). They live mostly in the Hill Country of Texas (Wimberley, Texas) and are descendants of Zachariah W. Wimberley and Pleasant Wimberley who founded the town of Wimberley, Texas. (www.wimberley.org)
