Mallow AC Facebook guidelines. I usually post this every year so now is probably as good a time as any.
Our Facebook group has grown to over 800 members in the last 3 years.
Just want to ask people to keep in mind the following points.
The page was set up to just to give people times and dates for club training. Before that John had to text everybody. It has developed since then and now results, photos and upcoming races are also published when available.
Items of interest to club members are also put up keeping members up to date as to what is happening.
When posting to the page can you keep the above in mind.
We get lots of request for people to join the group from far away countries. These are always blocked as they usually end up trying to sell something to the group.
Once an add is put up and it has nothing to do about running we will take it down and the user is removed.
Keep in mind also that we have lots of members working in different shops and it’s not fair on any 1 interest to compete via the Mallow AC Facebook page. If somebody has a special offer for Mallow AC runners then fine but general ads can grow and soon we will have just ads. Don’t feel you can’t put up a special offer for people to see, just keep the amount in mind.
When posting comments please keep them non-offensive. Some comments start out harmless but suddenly they progress into something not so harmless If you have a problem with a comment then please don’t add to the fire. Let it pass or talk to the person. If comments get out of hand then we need to remove the post. Sorry. 800 people done need to see it.
Lastly the page was never intended as a debate type of page. Keep the language clean and think of the audience before posting.
