Fellow students of South Texas College of Law, my name is Derek Causey and I am running for Freshman Senator. As a Freshman Senator I will work my hardest to improve the position from its already exceptional state. I will continue this hard work by insuring that every duty of this office is performed diligently and in the best interest of South Texas College of Law. Ever since first walking in the doors of South Texas College of... Law, I have recognized the many qualities that make our student body so great. From the multitude of student organizations, to the achievements they have obtained, I can honestly say there is no other student body I would rather be a part of. For this reason I decided to actively pursue involvement. I am currently a member of the Aggie Law Students Association and hold the position of Alumni Liaison for Delta Theta Phi. I also have helped the Board Of Advocates as a 1L by volunteering to witness in both the finals and cross examination phases of mock trials. As your Freshman Senator I will strive to insure that every incoming class of new South Texas College of Law students will recognize the great qualities of our student body as well. It is my goal to strengthen our already stellar student organization involvement by increasing their presence at each incoming classes’ orientation.
