Kamandag Barikus is deeply committed in fulfilling its advocacy on nature appreciation, environment preservation, responsible leadership, and social awareness...

Kamandag Barikus Mountaineers’ Association is a non-profit and non-stock organization of professional mountaineers who are deeply involved in nature appreciation and preservation. Our group does not only undertake outdoor activities but we also venture in conserving our natural resources.

From its humble beginning, Kamandag Barikus Mountaineers Association has been a group of mountaineers which conquered many challenges in the field of outdoor sports. KBMA initially started as a school based mountaineering group of Asia School of Arts and Sciences when Ms. Rose D. Luengas introduced mountain climbing to its students and employees. During this time, the group was formerly called ASAS Mountaineering Berks.

The first mountain-climb recorded by the group was Mt. Arayat in 2002. Together with Mr. Bryan Lonop, Ms. Rose D. Luengas and her co-employees conducted pre-climb meetings, physical fitness and organized the climb for the purpose of exposing 53 individuals the thrills of the great outdoors and reaching the summit of Mt. Arayat.

With the large number of participants, the group failed to reach the summit. But this did not stop the group to continue believing that the group can climb. With this in mind, Barikus Mountaineers was established in 2003 after conquering the summit of Mt. Maculot at Cuenca Batangas. This was the start of great accomplishments and successful climbs for the group.
