Censoring other members comments is not allowed. Using this group to sell products is not allowed without prior authorization. Please contact an administrator if you have a problem or question about the group. If you are experiencing harrassment through emails or PMs from members of this group, please contact an administrator and this will be dealt with. As a support group, it is my goal to have an environment that is respectful and where everyone can have a voice.

Who may join?
Any adult (18+) who has a diagnosis of mitochondrial disease/dysfunction, who is in the process of obtaining a diagnosis, or who suspects he/she may have mitochondrial disease/dysfunction is permitted to join. Other members of the mitochondrial disease community (including caregivers, medical professionals, friends, and family) are welcome.

NOTE: If you are a caregiver for someone with mitochondrial disease or the parent of a child with mitochondrial disease, there are additional groups available for you on Facebook too. Please PM an administrator for relevant links if you need help finding these groups.

Why is this group closed?
This group is closed in order to help protect the privacy and integrity of its members. Only members can see posts and comments on the wall.

Is this a medical group?
Since none of our members are serving as healthcare professionals on this group, giving specific medical advice is not permitted. Members are encouraged to share their personal experiences and to speak with their treatment team if they have questions/concerns or are considering changing their treatment regimen. Any advice or recommendations is not to be taken at medical advice.

What may I post?
Anything related to life with mitochondrial disease is appropriate for this board. Pictures, videos, news articles, treatment discussions, tips and tricks for daily life and rants/frustrations are all permitted. Words of encouragement and support are also appropriate, but please be sensitive to individual members' personal beliefs. Use discretion when posting and remember that material that is deemed hate speech or offensive according to Facebook's policies will be removed by an administrator and reported to Facebook. Keep any profanity in check.

What if I have an issue with another member?
If you have an issue with another member, you are encouraged to work it out between yourselves. Everyone in this group is an adult, but we realize that sometimes the stressors of living with a chronic illness can cause tempers to flare at times. If you are unable to resolve your differences, you may "block" the person using Facebook's "block" option. When you block a person, you are unable to see anything he/she posts on the group and they are unable to see anything you post on the group. If you need help, please contact an administrator.

NOTE: In order to prevent confusion, please keep personal disagreements that are not related to the group off the group.
