This group is for items being sold in Malvern PA. Residents of Malvern are welcome to join, as are other people who are willing to travel to Malvern to pick up their items. This group emerged out of a parking-lot discussion with another mom about how it would be nice to have a Malvern group since we’re on the edge of Chester County and it’s not always convenient to travel very far.
Most of our rules are pretty standard across all the yardsale sites. Rule #1, however, is the most important to our site and the one that separates Malvern PA Yard Sale from the others. Please read carefully before you post.
Rules:
1. All items must be available for purchase in Malvern, PA. If an item is physically located in another town, you must be willing to bring it to Malvern for the exchange. Please phrase your listing like this: "Malvern" OR "Item is located in Othertown, but will deliver to/meet in Malvern".
2. All items must be posted with photo, asking price & size (if relevant). No auctions! Please also note if you are listing elsewhere- this is just to keep people from getting mad if they item they want is already gone. It's totally fine to post elsewhere-- this is supposed to help people, not cause headaches.
3. Please read all comments before commenting on a post. Others may have shown interest as well and are waiting for the seller to get back to them. If interested in an item and another is ahead of you, please write “Interested” or "next." This will allow the seller to know that you are next in line if the sale doesn't go through. If we find that someone offers more money for an item or tries to jump the line via private message, both buyer and seller will be permanently banned.
4. If you agree to purchase an item with the seller, please be courteous and make the purchase in a timely fashion. Sellers are trying to remove items from their home. Please don't say you'll purchase an item and then not get back to them for days at a time.
5. Please delete all sold items once sold. If an item is in the process of being sold and you are waiting for the buyer to pick it up, you can write “PPU” to indicate that the item is “Pending Pick-Up” (and probably sold).
6. Spam & advertising home businesses = permanent removal from group.
7. You may only “bump” your items once in 24 hours. Bumping means commenting on your items to send it to the top.
8. If you repost an item, please delete the previous listing. Multiple listings may be removed.
9. If your item has been listed for 60 days with no comments or activity please remove or it may be removed.
10. Wherever possible, please use a real picture (rather than a stock picture pulled from the Internet)- this helps people determine condition and avoids disappointment.
11. Posting pictures: Please limit postings to 15 items at a time.
There are many other groups on Facebook for selling things- please join one of those if your needs would be better met by not coming to Malvern, PA.
