Located within the Borough, the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department provides fire, emergency medical services (EMS), and various types of rescue, including SCUBA. The Department covers a fire district of approximately 65 square miles with an approximate population of 3,000. This includes 3 municipalities: Shanksville Borough, Indian Lake Borough, and Stonycreek Township. We also provide emergency services for 15 miles of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
