The purpose of this group is to offer ways to discuss unclear class concepts, get homework help, and set up study groups among our classmates in CHM 26505! There are no obligations whatsoever, but I like to think of it as a good way to stay connected, help others, and get help if you need it. By helping others, your own understanding can be greatly reinforced, so if you feel like studying together, or if you'd like to talk to your classmates to clear something up you didn't quite understand, this is a good place to do it, and I highly recommend it! If you don't need to use the group for help, and if you're not the kind of person that learns better from helping others, don't feel like you have force yourself to do something in the group. Keep the academic integrity stuff in mind! This is not a place to get free answers. That also means that when you are helping someone else, do your best to make sure they understand the process and reasoning, not just the end result. To my understanding, Organic Chemistry requires the ability to evaluate problems with some key tools of reasoning, trends, and predictability, so cheating and getting to the answer without being able to reason it out yourself will come back to bite you (or the person you're helping). I don't think we'll have any problems with this though -- I trust you guys. (:
