Welcome to The Blyth and District Pool League Facebook page.

The BDPL is based in South-East Northumberland. The majority of the teams are from Blyth, but also has teams from Cramlington, Seaton Sluice, New Hartley and Cambois.

The league currently has two divisions a Premier Division and Division One, and the league currently has 30 teams participating in it. The Premier Division is named The Bob Brown Premier Division in recognition of the efforts & longevity of Bob Brown within our pool league.

The league season is played on Thursday nights from late August to May-June. Each match consists of 6 singles and 3 doubles games, 1 bonus point is awarded to the team that wins the match.

A Captains Cup game is played at the beginning of the league games for both leagues, the team that wins most of these games over the season in each league wins a trophy. This has now been renamed the Keith Hall Captains Cup in memory and honour of the late Keith Hall.

As well as running both leagues there are other separate competitions are held during the season - Singles, Doubles, Alan Grainger 3-a-side cup, Ray Brownlee Premier Division team knock-out & Gordon Young 1st Division team knock-out memorial cups.

An AGM is held every July to discuss possible rule changes and for new teams to register an interest in playing in the league for the upcoming season.
