Recognizing the to have a formidabe socio-political action group to support the activities of the All Progressive Congress,the need to re-mobilise ourselves to secure a better future,the loss of confidence in the governance of the Retrogressive Peoples Democratic party, the disunity among the Nigerian people across the federation, lack of good leadership, media and social attacks against inter and intra ethnic groups of which have resulted in the gross erosion of our national image, fundamentally destroying the goodwill we hitherto enjoyed from other Nations.
The need to hoist the Nigerian Nation to moral and intellectual dignity, re-establish civil political institutions; reconcile and bring back together our various people and rekindle in ourselves the spirit of brotherhood, confront corruption and insecurity, social decay, remedy existing ills and evils around our great nation and arouse ourselves to a desired state of consciousness to build a prosperous and lasting democracy through internal democracy ans discipline, social justice and mass socio-political mobilization.
In retort to these challenges, we the leaders and founding members of the League also former students' Leaders and Leaders of Civil society Youth Groups who are active members of our various political parties, felt a sense of duty to the Nigerian people; consequently assembled in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on the 15th day of February, 2013 and resolved:
(a) To bring together all patriotic progressively minded Nigerians Students and Youth into a single formidable socio-political group, capable of mobilizing and organizing the Nigerian youths into a strong and virile All Progressive Congress Youth Wing.
(b) To work in the realization of all the All Progressive Congress policies, programmes manifestoes' and the implementation of all decisions, actions and strategies.
(c) To work together under the leadership of the party for the speedy restoration of internal democracy, the of national reconciliation, economic and social reconstruction and respect for human rights and the rule of law.
(d) To mobilize like-minded Nigerian Youths under the leadershinp of the All Progressive Congress to build a nation responsive to the aspirations of the nation and that of all black people of the world and also to gain the confidence of other nations.
(e) To motivate the spirit of true federalism, fair and equitable devolution of powers, oppurtunities and resources to zones, states and local governments.
(f) Mobilize Nigerian people to create socio-political conditions conducive to national peace and unity, defend and protect the sanctity of the electoral democracy, build a nation answerable to the dreams and aspirations of Nigerians in particular and Africans in general; at the same time meeting the expectations of the world.
