Charlotte, just a sweet little 2 lb., 3 month old puppy, was deliberately starved, tortured, beaten, and then left to die in a plastic bag. We thank God every day that she was found by some good Samaritans. The pup was rushed to the hospital, with skull fractures (caused by a blunt object) and clinging to her life.

Today, she is doing better, but the person who did this to her is walking the streets and it is very possible that she will get away with this, as many animal abusers do. After she was arrested, she told police "Just give me my misdemeanor, so I can get out of here. It's just a dog". She obviously knows the law (if she is referencing just getting a misdemeanor - too bad she got slapped with a FELONY instead) and she has ZERO remorse. Oh, and to prove she's a heartless monster even further? She went out and bought ANOTHER puppy the very same day she tossed Charlotte out her car window, like a piece of trash! Her reasoning? "It was cheaper to buy a new dog than to pay for Charlotte's medical expenses".

If convicted on the top count, Ms. Ivanchenko faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison. It is up to all of us to make sure she receives it!! NO EXCUSES! After the preliminary hearing on 9/22/14 to see if it would go to the Grand Jury, they have decided it will! Then, on 10/9/14, the Grand Jury indicted her and now Alsu Ivanchenko is being charged with a FELONY and will be arraigned in front of the Supreme Court on Tuesday, 1/13/15. We are hoping for the MAXIMUM sentence and won't stop until we get it!! It will be an extremely important day for #TeamCharlotte and for all the abused animals in the world.

Therefore, we will once again set up a rally outside of the Richmond County Supreme Court on Wednesday, January 13th at 7:30am, to show our continued support for Charlotte! Thank you to all who showed up at the protests! Come January 13th, we NEED everyone who can make it that day to come out! PLEASE don't forget about baby Charlotte once there is no longer constant media coverage and the newspapers stop printing stories about this monster! This pup will STILL be fighting for her life! She has a long road ahead of her and will hopefully make a full recovery.

So many local Staten Islanders as well as many other people throughout the country have expressed on multiple FB pages that they have been left heart broken by this story. We cannot believe that someone would do such a thing! We therefore ask the authorities and the Honourable Sentencing Judge to hand this woman the maximum penalty available under the current laws of the state of New York, in addition to a lifetime ban on owning animals.

Let's not only do this for Charlotte, but ALL of the defenseless animals that have been abused and/or killed as a result. Our animal abuse laws NEED to be stricter and the penalties need to be more severe. We need to be the voice for the voiceless... otherwise, the abuse will never stop.
