This is a place for you to voice your ideas, express your opinions and ask questions on all things Lompoc. News, sports, politics, local places of interest, upcoming local events - or maybe you just would like to share some memories. You are also welcome to promote your local business, band, service, or cause. Just keep it relevant to Lompoc.
A polite request from your Admins; Before posting something, please take a moment to scroll down the page to see if someone else posted it. This avoids having multiple posts about the same issue.
Likewise, before commenting, take a moment to read the thread to see if that point has already been made. This will help to keep comment thread from becoming redundant.
RULES:
1) In order to join the Lompoc Forum, you must use a real name - no pseudonyms. If you change your name to a pseudonym after joining, you will be warned, and if action is not taken, you will be removed. This keeps people from joining anonymously.
2) The Group Moderators reserve the right to delete ANY post, comment, or ban a member at their discretion and without explanation. THIS IS NOT A TOPIC FOR DEBATE. Your post/comment was deleted. Get over it, we're not violating your right to free speech. It's only Facebook.
3) This is not the complaint department. Post your rants on your own page. If you are going to point out a problem, offer a solution. Be constructive.
4) The Lompoc Forum does not allow posts for Crowdfunding Websites like "Gofundme". There are plenty of other ways to request donations - e.g., setting up an account with a local bank or Credit Union, local business fundraisers, etc.
5) If you are a contractor, you are welcome to advertise your services here. But please list your Contractor's License Number in your post.
6) We encourage you to be proactive. Google is your friend. We often see posts that are unnecessary, because a simple Google search would have answered the question.
7) If you don't like these rules, there are other forums out there that you might find more to your liking. You are always free to give them a try.
8) Last, but certainly not least; Threats, or harassment against either of the Admins will result in legal action. California law is very clear about that type of conduct.
Please keep in mind that the Admins are just regular citizens like you. We are not paid Civil Servants, and we have jobs and lives. We choose to devote some of our free time to maintain this Forum because it is one way to give back to the community.
So that being said, we do not have the time to argue, debate, or justify how we enforce these guidelines. We tried that approach in the past, and it became just too time consuming.
That’s it for now. The bottom line is to just behave like responsible adults and be nice to one another.
