Welcome to AO's Facebook page! We are glad you are here! This group's primary purpose is to serve those who are actively using AO in their homeschool or classroom and those interested in learning about AO. We desire that this group be as helpful and positive as possible. In order to be that, we have set up the following guidelines:
We are sure that you'll have lots to talk about and that there will be many questions. Because we are all moms like you with families waiting on our side of the computer screen, we have limited time for group moderation, so we must limit the topics of discussion to those directly related to putting AO into practice. So long as there's a clear connection with AO, we welcome fun posts, questions about AO or CM and genuine discussion relating to AO's curriculum choices.
Due to time constraints and the limited scope of this group, we will not debate the validity of CM methods here. For any point of contention, we generally assume Charlotte Mason's words to be the final arbiter on CM methodology for such things as: what makes a book living, how to do language arts, etc. Neither do we expect to discuss other homeschool methods or curriculum here, though there is room for that on the AO forum. If you have a complaint or criticism, we prefer that you choose another medium for communicating that with us. -- amblesideonlinemoderators@gmail.com -- All private correspondence will be discussed and responded to privately.
We also do not allow buying and selling on our FB pages although we do have a buying/selling area in the forum. Anyone who appears to have joined with an agenda for promoting a website, product, or alternate homeschool method will be removed. Admins reserve the right to remove posts that are unrelated to AO, contentious, or spam.
Please remember that FB's privacy cannot be guaranteed, and its search facility is limited. This Facebook group does not replace the AO Forum, which is AO's main online presence.
