This Community has been Created To Gather All Calcutta Shias As We all know that Calcutta is one of the place where Azadari is to its maximum.
Muharram is observed by the Shia community of Muslims in commemoration of the martyrdom of Prophet Mohammed's grandson, Imam Hussain(a.s), who was killed in the Battle of Karbala in AD 680.
The prophet's son-in-law Ht. Imam Ali(a.s), and Ht. Imam Ali's(a.s) elder son Imam Hassan (a.s), are also remembered during this period as having suffered and died for righteous causes.. Moharram with a fervour that has its own cultural peculiarity, everyone wears black clothes for 2 months 8 days, and it is Majlis, Matam and Marsiyas..
