The 8th Forest Hill Rangers was re-opened (ish after a very long gap!) in 1998/99 when the 5 senior section members got too old to stay at guides and was given the choice to form a Ranger group these members were then join by 2 ex guides who decided to come back to the guiding world later that year, the small but mighty group had lots of memorable sleepovers, meals etc we also shared camps with guides but on the other side of the camp! Anyway after the Wales 2000 holiday the trend soon caught on and many other guides stayed on and move up to Rangers when they turned 14½, so the group was expanding, the originals got the name Rovers, and more girls joined from other groups around the district, the 8th Forest Hill Rangers are still going strong and girls are still joining ……..
This is group to share memories from the past or to share gossip/news for the present/future to keep us going wherever we are, whatever we do we are still united as a group LOL!!!!
