Barangay Santo Rosario is the northernmost region of the township's urban districts.It is bounded to the west by the Gulf of Leyte,the rolling hills and valleys of the town in the east,Barangay Rizal to the north and Barangay San Vicente to the south.
The most prominent establishment in the barangay is the famed Macrohon Institute,INC.(MACI ).
It is also famous for its pristine beaches and extensive coral reefs.This natural endowment provides a safe sanctuary for several marine organisms.Some migratory mammals can be seen navigating towards its southern route along the reef lines.A swarm of schooling silver fish is an absolute source of nocturnal delight.An ensemble of multiple lantern bearing fishermen frantically herd and catch this desirable piscatory blessing.
A couple of provincial level beauty title holders namely Ivy Marie Kuizon Loy and Christiane Magpatoc Holldack hail from the barangay.
Two of the Christian protestant churches namely the United Church Of Christ and the Church Of Christ Of Later Day Saints established their campuses in the area.
Two of the township's former mayors namely the late Rafael Diola Joven and Manuel Pelenio Boldo are citizens of the barangay.
Three of the few surviving antique houses of the township are located in the village.
A portion of the famous Tubod River traverses in its most southern border where the former rice fields are located.
A wet land nature preserve that infamously inundates the peripheral residential areas during the monsoon season is situated in its east central region.This habitat provides a sanctuary to a diverse array of wild life.
The barangay provides joy and excitement to the township's residents every time the world renowned MACI diving tower gets installed every February.It regularly attracts most of the citizenry on week ends and of course during the feast of Saint John,the Baptist due to the above reason.
A bourgeoning collection of shops that specialize on vending locally grown produce are proliferating in its most northern border along the national high way system.This industry is gaining more prominence from the endorsements of satisfied customers.
The barangay is blessed by the patronage of the Most Holy Mother Of GOD whose feast is eagerly anticipated annually on the last Saturday of October.A clear manifestation of the citizenry's devotion to Her is an annual elaborate veneration on the 31st of May.This is an extension to the collective celebration of her annual feast and solemnity.
Our barangay's rustic allure always beckons all of us to come home.She is always waiting and longing for our return.When we all do it will be absolutely difficult even to contemplate on leaving her behind again.
Probably none of us realized how lucky we are being its citizens.
The barangay is our only home.There is none like it anywhere in the world.
