Hi everyone! There have been so many questions about a reunion it seemed like it would be a good idea to create a page to get the word out. It is so exciting that there has been such an interest about it! I know previous years has kind of been hit or miss.
We (class officers) are currently planning the details about locations. The plan is to have the reunion on the weekend of homecoming. Mrs. Cook informed Rachel that the football schedule won't be posted until this summer but that the game will be in October. We will update everyone once we have a specific weekend.
Saturday we will have a "Family & Friends Outdoors Day" at the new park in Texarkana. This will be for all your kiddos I see on Facebook. If you are like me and do not have kids it will still be a lot of fun. It will most likely be bring your own cooler of snack and chairs and enjoy the day. We will have things like games, fishing, and face painting. Just think of it like one of our old track and field days except teachers aren't monitoring you and your only source of water isn't from a water fountain.
For the evening plans, Sally and Leah are talking to a couple of venues but the plan will be a meet up at around 8:00 p.m. where there will be a reserved area for our party and hopefully some live music. In previous years they tried to sell tickets and couldn't give people a specific amount until the final numbers and it got kind of pricey. People can grab dinner with friends before meeting up or go to the bar/restaurant early.
We are looking into a possible hotel block for a discount in case people would need to get a room. If anyone is interested in that let me know and I can get numbers together and call. It is still really early, I know!
The rest of the details will unfold over time but we just wanted to give everyone a preliminary heads up. Please share this group with anyone that hasn't seen it. I tried to include everyone I could. Also, I know some people don't have Facebook (Rachel Griffin the president) so let me know if I need to contact anyone else.
