(Be sure to take note of the advice for posting photographs that is detailed at the end of this welcome description.)

The Glass Paperweight Group is open to anyone who collects, creates, or is just fascinated by these amazing glass objects. We welcome the artists who make glass paperweights and the people who love them. We welcome paperweight scholars and eager students. The only requirement is an enjoyment and an appreciation of the art.

You do not have to be a member of any paperweight association to join this group.

Please keep your comments and discussions centered around glass paperweights only. Not metal or wood or pottery; and not advertising or souvenir photo paperweights. Thanks for understanding.

Your interest may be in millefiori paperweights, abstract paperweights, lampwork paperweights, sulphide paperweights, FRIT weights, and other styles of the colorful and vibrant art form. You may be a fan of antique French paperweights (Clichy, Baccarat, St. Louis, Pantin, St. Mande), turn-of-the-century (19th to 20th) American and British paperweights, or early and contemporary paperweights from all over the world, including Italy (Murano) and Bohemia-Silesia, and especially the United States and Scotland. Both countries are the source of some of the greatest paperweights being crafted today.

In the United States, we've seen the creation of extraordinary paperweights, including those by Victor Trabucco, Jon Trabucco, David Trabucco, Chris Buzzini, Rick Ayotte, Melissa Ayotte, Ken Rosenfeld, David Graeber, Paul Stankard, Mayauel Ward, Debbie Tarsitano, Alison Ruzsa, Jim D'Onofrio, Justin Lundberg, Steven Lundberg, Jesse Taj, Peter Muller, Daniel Salazar, David Salazar, Virginia Wilson Toccalino, Tony Toccalino, Drew Ebelhare, Shawn Messenger, Cathy Richardson, Colin Richardson, Eric Hansen, and so many others.

Please post images of your collection or individual paperweights. Please ask questions of your Glass Paperweight Group friends, especially if you need a paperweight identified.

Please keep your commentary and discussion about glass paperweights, but don't hesitate to discuss both your likes and dislikes, current paperweight trends in the global marketplace, the good and the bad of working as a glass paperweight artist or of collecting glass paperweights.

We would love to see your paperweight pride and joy. Be it from the New England Glass Company or by Charles Kaziun Jr. Be it from Whitefriars or by Perthshire. Be it from Orient & Flume or by Paul Ysart. Have fun with this group and the discussions about beautiful glass paperweights.

(NOTE: When posting photographs please provide detailed descriptions in the caption area. Tell us if the paperweight is in your collection or is a paperweight you made. Please tell other members something about why you like the paperweight or offer some information about making it, if it is something you crafted yourself. Please post photographs that are sharp and clear. Thank you.)
