Scripture Union is a movement of Christians of all ages and stages committed to sharing Jesus with children, young people and families. We are a community of volunteers, supported by a small number of staff, and active in over 130 countries throughout the world. We are interdenominational, working with the churches to passionately, creatively, and prayerfully share the Good News of Jesus.
In NSW there are around 3000 volunteers serving through a variety of Scripture Union ministries. Those ministries include Camps, conferences, student Christian groups, leadership training, resource development, and our largest ministry, SUFM (Scripture Union Family Mission - also known as 'Beach Mission').
We pray that our movement might be a tool in God’s hand for the outbreak of revival in NSW in our generation.
Tanilba Bay SUFM is Scripture Union's BRAND NEW Urban Family Mission opening this December for the very first time! Urban Mission teams have a big task! We will set up (and sleep) in Tanilba Bay Primary School and engage with the local community through morning family programs and afternoon community engagement activities. A unique opportunity for us is the ability to partner with the local churches and Christians to do outreach in their area. This both trains and empowers the local Christians as well as encouraging them with the energy and enthusiasm that the team brings.
