1st WESTVILLE POLICE VENTURERS
1991-Present
The 1st. Westville Police Ventures was formed on September 1st, 1991. At that time three youth approached the Police Service with a request to form the group. From that day forward the group has been an integral part of the Police Service.
Designed for youth 12 years of age to 19 this program provides youth with an opportunity to work in partnership with the Police Officers in Community Services projects. They serve the community by providing assistance during special events, parades, protection of seniors and community security patrols to name a few.
The group is highly disciplined through uniform dress regulations, drill and group policies. They receive training in leadership, firearms, self defence , citizenship and other police related topics.
For activities they take part in sports, camping, and special trips to visit other groups and institutions such as the Atlantic Police Academy.
