The police depend on the citizens to help control criminal activity.
They ask that the citizens help by becoming the extra eyes and ears of the community.
The purpose of the Block Watch Program is to organize neighborhoods throughout the city of Toledo to assist the Toledo Police Dept. in a joint effort to reduce all criminal activity in the neighborhoods.
Why Should I participate in this program?
The police department cannot reduce crime without the help and cooperation of the public.
If we ever hope to start reducing the crime in our neighborhoods, it must be a joint effort by the citizens and the Police Dept.
Block Watch is not a police program; it is a neighborhood/citizens program.
The success of the program is dependent upon the amount of cooperation and dedication of the citizens living in that particular neighborhood
