With the current revolution sparked by the tragic events in Ferguson, we are asking for all hands on deck to create a response from Chicago artists in solidarity with the fight against injustice and inequality. Our focus will be on redressing the racial inequities of a system that allows unarmed young people of color to be slaughtered at an exorbitant rate, by those who are supposed to protect them, with no accountability. How do we, as artist, address these crimes and senseless deaths? We are asking you to stand with us as artist and assist in breaking down the ignorant assumptions made when it comes to people of color in this country. As an admirable leader and organizer on the ground in Ferguson told me, "This movement is not about Mike Brown . . . it's about the next one."
