In order for our children to bond with nature and the earth they must spend time in it and on it. We have this beautiful natural playground for our children to discover, explore and play...in their own way and in their own time.

Nature Play promotes child-led play.
What our children want to do and how they want to do it is the perfect way for them in that moment.

Leaving play to the experts
No-one knows how to play like a child and no-one knows the best way a child should play than him/herself.

If you would like more information on what child-led play is (including what it actually looks like) and how as adults we can support this please visit our website www.nature-play.co.uk.

TODDLERS
Children need to play for their brains to grow to their full potential, to evolve in their imagination and creativity. Please don't bring any toys into the woods, there are plenty of 'sausages', 'horses', 'houses' etc there already.

BABIES
In the early years of life your baby's brain is operating in the frequency range used in hypnosis - delta and theta, these are pure download states. Babies are downloading EVERYTHING at four million bits per second! So to be in nature and on the earth is to be connected.

WHEN?
Mondays - Meeting time - 9.45am.
Ready to start our Slow Walk at 10:00 am

MEETING POINT?
9.45am at Myuna Bay.
The turn-off is unnamed and unmarked, but is easy to find. Driving on Wangi Road (from Toronto) it is the first left after the Myuna Bay Rest Area (the left before the Sport & Rec Centre). Drive to the end of this short street and there we'll be.

WHAT TO BRING?
Please bring food to share for morning tea, a tea cup (I'll bring a thermos of herbal tea), a drink of water for yourselves, hat, sunscreen, etc. (If there's a big group could someone please bring an extra picnic rug.)

WHAT TO EXPECT?
We'll amble along one of the paths (your child will let you know which one she/he wants to follow!), over the bridge and continue our child-led walk to the base where we'll pause for morning tea. The paths are all suitable for prams or wheelchairs.

As this is very much a child-led experience we don't have any set routines, expectations for the children or end time. We allow each child to choose his/her own rhythm...which will likely change each week!

A focus of this group is accepting what our child chooses to do...and allowing them the space needed to do this.

(NB The only toilets available are bush toilets.)

FREE
Mums, Dads, Caregivers, Nannys, Homeschoolers - all welcome.

We encourage an atmosphere of free play for the children, however, you will be responsible for your own child. We ask that you only come if accompanied by a child (unless two parents/carers attending for same child) and no more than three children under the care of a single adult for safety reasons.

Thank you, Kate
