CAW Wrestling Illustrated was created in 2013. The group's board of admins soon became known for not breaking kayfabe in its articles by traditionally treating all "angles", or storylines, as if they were real. However, in more recent years, the magazine has taken an editorial approach between kayfabe and "Shoot" writing, differentiating between on-screen feuds and controversial behind-the-scenes stories, feuds or superstaars. The CWI is not limited to covering only prominent CAW wrestling promotions in addition to covering multiple independent E-Feds. The CWI has also given out annual awards and recognitions since its inception about two years ago. In addition to that, the CWI has also given out monthly rankings for bigger promotions, some select independents, and handed out an overall rankings system for singles competitors and tag teams. Additionally, readers are given the ability vote for the winners of the year-end awards with ballots being included in special year-end issues. The Annual CWI Awards are issued annually, which reveals winners of numerous categories and the number of votes counted. The following is a list of categories in which CWI will issue awards.
