This group I felt needed to be developed because of the strong bond that has always existed between the family relatives. Now as we get older and our elders have been slowly passing away, I felt it important to honor our families, both the present, past and future Especially as our relatives branch out and continue to grow wider and wider and not know the families of the past.
I have had the privilege of growing up and taking trips to PEI, spending time with my relatives and having the crazy, wild fun. These are memories I will never forget.I cherish my relatives and love each and everyone of them dearly. This love for our families was taught generations ago and it still exists today. Now as we grow older, our children and their children will know the legacies of all of us, from before Grandma Stevenson, to the families of the future.
This group as it grows will be able to share stories, share information and we hopefully, will never drift apart. This group can also serve as a platform to honor those who have past, those being born, those who maybe ill and those who grow up and move away to have families of their own.
Our families will always have the knowledge of our histories as long as we share what we have.
I also hope we, as individuals will set forth their ideas and make it a part of the group. To me, it is important and I know others who feel the same. We can continue to grow and know our families before time spreads our memories out and we forget. The people (meaning relatives) are too important to forget or not have the knowledge of where we've come from.
