The learning integration style for social media in IAB130 is the opt-in methodology. Blackboard and timetabled classes will be used to communicate essential information, and students can use Facebook to supplement their learning. Although use is highly encouraged students that do not wish to take part will not be disadvantaged in regards to learning material provided by the university, they will however lose some of the inherit benefit of student collaboration. Students are also welcome to use the Blackboard discussion board as an alternative if they do not feel comfortable using Facebook.
Students should expect a staff member to log in once every few days where they will try and respond to unanswered student questions.
