Kiev Expats is a group for foreigners living in the wonderful city of Kyiv! Feel free to ask questions you have about life here and hopefully someone will have an answer. Let us know of events or activities happening in the city. We look forward to navigating this Ukrainian life with all of you.
If you would like to join our group, you must message BOTH admins, ANN MERRILL and VIVICA WILLIAMS and include your connection to Kyiv. Requests to join without a message to the admins or without the required information will be ignored. Each request to join our group is reviewed individually by the administrators. Requests are generally reviewed on a weekly basis. Please check your "other" folder of your Facebook inbox for replies from admins.

A few notes about conduct in our group. . .
We appreciate members' recommendations for services and products and announcements of new services/locales in Kyiv. However, regular self-promotion/advertising via our group isn't cool. Administrators will warn members as appropriate. Of course, spam isn't cool either. Please tag an admin if you notice spam and we will remove it promptly.
As well, while we encourage thoughtful discourse/feedback (positive and negative) among our members about local services/products/traditions, we cannot allow culturally insensitive posts or comments about the country in which we have chosen to live. As expats, we are guests and we should act respectfully.
Additionally, our group has gotten more requests for membership as Ukraine and Kyiv have hit the headlines. Our group is NOT a place for political discourse, but rather for information sharing among foreigners currently living in Kyiv. We welcome information, resources and NEWS (as long as it is free of personal commentary and includes a link to a credible news source). There are other groups on Facebook (such as Expats for EuroMaidan) that would be a better place to discuss politics.
Finally, Maria Fernanda and Daniel Bay started this group in 2012 and since have moved back to the U.S. Many thanks to them for their initiative in getting our expat community connected via Facebook.
