You can post if you are looking for a LGD, have LGD's for sale, trade or rescue. This group is for pet and working LGDs. Please be specific and post your general location and what you have or are looking for. LGDs are defined as dogs of commonly recognized LGD breeds such as Great Pyrenees, Anatolian Shepherd, Kuvasz etc. and mixes of those breeds. I will allow mixes of LGDs with other breeds to be posted, assuming it was an oops breeding, as well as dogs/rescues with unknown background as long as somebody isn't mixing LGDs with non-LGD breeds on purpose. However mixes with non-LGD breeds need to be clearly identified as such, don't list it as Pyr mix. Dogs that are a mix between LGD and another type of dog like Aussie, Border Collie etc. are not LGDs but can still make a good pet or farm dog, however the buyer needs to be aware that the dog may not be reliable with livestock as it matures. Anybody posting puppies in this group must agree that puppies are not leaving the breeder until 8 weeks of age. Please list the date of birth and the date they will be available to go to new homes. Posts that have wording such as "puppies must go asap" or "have to get rid of" or similar will be removed. It is every breeder's responsibility to be prepared to take care of the puppies they have produced until a suitable home can be found.
I also would like to add that I don't want to see people being grilled over the colors of their puppies.
