How the facebook page works: it's a group for the Film Co-op to keep its members and other film minded/film interested people up to date on the co-op and other film related things.

Just click on edit settings right on the group page (top right hand corner) and turn off receiving pesky emails every time someone posts in the NB Film Co-op facebook group if you don't like that. Stay and support.

The site is not structured for a lot of public questions, people's private musings or conversations or anything toxic and if there is any type of spamming people will be removed.

We also ask that people contact me privately by info@nbfilmcoop.com or by facebook email before they put info on it if they are unsure whether they should as I do tend to get complaints from the group if anything not related goes on.

If people have questions about the co-op or anything film related, they can email me directly anytime at info@nbfilmcoop.com

It works pretty good and people seem to really like being kept in the loop film wise in NB and beyond through it.

The NB Film Co-op Facebook Group is not a public forum, one has to be invited to be a part of it. It is a private facebook group and the site as befits the principles of the NB Film Co-op is about fostering co-operative feelings and friendship amongst co-op members and the greater film community in their creative endeavours. It is extremely difficult to do creative things and encouragement and support is so important.

A legitimate comment with some critical discourse as to one’s reasoning and some points is one thing, constructive criticism is welcomed by most although a wall is not the place for that in most cases, a personal conversation over a coffee is probably more appropriate, in other words face to face contact. Putting straight out negative comments alone, which pretty much say, “your stuff is crap” to hurt and upset people is not legitimate and will be removed. This is a form of trolling.

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online group, discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Far too often, people use the freedom of expression and freedom from censure argument to cloak their true intent, their anger towards others and their constant need to attack and defame others. This is not acceptable on this site and will not be tolerated.

If anyone doesn’t agree with the philosophy of the above, they have the freedom to leave the group.
