Welcome to NICU strong. In case you don't know NICU is the neonatal intensive care unit. Often when a baby goes to the NICU is not planned and can be a very traumatic, heart wrenching event. Even after graduation from the NICU the effects are long lasting, and not just medically. Many of us suffer from PTSD. Then add on the long term medical complications that we often experience with our health and our kiddos and there is a lot to deal with. We are here to support each other. The best teacher is experience and by sharing our experiences and stories we can help each other. Having NICU babies gives us a totally different perspective on life. This group is for all NICU families regardless of the reason they were in the NICU. You don't just have to be a preemie or micro-preemie to ride this roller coaster. This group is for moms, dads, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, nurses, former NICU babies, and everyone that is touched by the NICU life. We are here to support each other, and that is the point. The only requirement for this group is the be respectful of others. If you have any questions just ask.
