Neuropathic - Nerve Pain Support Group

English is the main language of Neuropathic - Nerve Pain Support Group facebook group. It is a CLOSED group. Neuropathic - Nerve Pain Support Group has 11,805 members. So it is a Huge group. 55504902607 is the identifier of this group with Facebook. 2015-02-27 20:32:05 is the closest date we have information about it.

This group is for anyone who is affected by nerve pain/neuropathic pain/neuropathy. It is intended to be a place where people can find information, share stories, gain support and maybe make some friends along the way!

I personally have Neuropathic Facial Pain/Trigeminal Neuropathic Pain/Atypical Neuropathic Facial Pain...whichever term you want to use (often that depends on where you are in the world). I don't pretend to understand ALL nerve related pain and the issues involved. However, one of my reasons for starting this group was a statement that I read which 'fascinated' me, for reasons that anyone who comes here will understand. It is the conclusion of a study on Neuropathic Pain completed in 2006 and states:
'Perhaps the most important clinical intervention neurologists can offer neuropathic pain patients is empathy, hope, and ongoing support. The importance of this cannot be overstated. Chronic pain inflicts significant sensory and emotional burdens on our patients and both must be addressed to ensure successful outcomes. Most neuropathic pain patients experience some improvement when physicians adopt a holistic approach to treatment'.

Where is this Doctor and how can I get an appointment???

Is it just my personal experience or are these 'just words to conclude a study' that sound good but are very rare in practice??? If practitioners did take a more holistic approach then maybe we wouldn't need these groups...who knows...

This is a list that isn't meant to be endless so please don’t be offended if your condition isn’t there, they are just examples!!

Post Herpetic Neuralgia (after Shingles)
Trigeminal Neuralgia/Trigeminal Neuropathic Pain/Facial Pain
Phantom Limb Pain
Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (nerve trauma)
Components of Cancer Pain/Treatment of Cancer
Entrapment Neuropathy (e.g., carpal tunnel syndrome)
Sciatica
Peripheral Neuropathy (widespread nerve damage)
HIV Infections
Back/Leg/Hip problems (very long list)!
Neuropathic pain of unknown origin

I would really like your input, your experiences and your willingness to share...even if you only read one suggestion and it gives you some pain relief or support then this group has been successful

I hope you find the people and the support as helpful and comforting as I do.
Thanks for dropping by
Nikki
