The Metalsmith's Workshop is a page to share, learn and interact with professional metalsmiths and those who wish to become professional metalsmiths! Rules are: Metal talk, instruction, links, sources, workshops, sharing. Any and everything metal related.
Please...No spamming, fund-raising, Kickstarters or flaming. Posts announcing workshops or events are limited to one per workshop or event. Those must be metal related. You may sell tools that are hand made by you as long as they are metal related. One announcement per month please. All follow up to those sales must be done outside of The Metalsmith's Workshop page. No trunk shows or stone sales.
No assemblers, dealers, middle men/women, unless you also fabricate metal work yourselves. Assembling bits and bobs from parts other people make is not considered "metal work" here. CAD to make metalwork IS permitted as metal work.
Unauthorized selling and spamming posts will be removed and blocked immediately possibly along with the posters. Posts not related to metal will be removed without warning. Ditto hijacking a thread. Flaming, depending on the flame will get one warning and then....adios.
If you post up a picture of your work, know that work might be critiqued. Know the critiques may be given only to help, correct technique or suggest alternate methods. Experienced jewelers giving advice? See it as an opportunity to pick some well trained brains! FOR FREE! Please keep critiques helpful, respectful and polite.
If you have an issue with another member, take it offline. Be a big boy or girl and PM them. Ongoing spats will be erased without warning.
The price of admission is at least one photo on your public page indicating that you do some kind of Metal work. Love to have a broad mix of work, art, metal mediums, images and opinions. Please feel free to add those people on your friends list you'd like to see included here.
