Shree Ayyappa Temple Ankleshwar is situated in Gadkhol Panchayat of Bharuch District, opposite GNFC Nauka Vihar, Ankleshwar Gujarat. This is in between the two holy rivers of Gujarat, the Tapti & the Narmada. In 1985, a few devotees came together to form the Ayyappa Seva Samiti and performed Ayyappa Pooja on January 13, every year. This continued till the purchase of a suitable land and the construction and consecration of the deity. In 1996 a piece of land was purchased to construct a temple in Kerala style. The land was declared suitable for the temple at a Devaprasnam (interpretation of astrological findings about a temple) by the prominent astrologer Shri Krishnankutty Guptan. The construction of the temple was started in 1998 under the guidance of eminent temple architects of Kerala, Shri Kanippayyur Krishnan Namboothiri and Shri Kanippayyur Kuttan Nampoothiri. The consecration of the deity was held on February 18, 2002 by Bramashree Thantra Rathnam Shri Azhakath Sasthra Sarman Nampoothiripad. Shree Ayyappa is presiding deity. The idol of Lord Ayyappa made of Panchaloha (five metals like Gold, Silver, Copper, Iron & Lead) is awe inspiring for all devotees. Lord Ganapathi, Lord Shiva, Lord Subramania and Goddess Durga are also consecrated as sub deities. A special place has been assigned to Nagaraja (Serpent King) and Nagayakshi. The Dhwajaprathishta was conducted on November 21, 2007. Navagrahas with their consorts and Lord Shree Krishna were also consecrated on February 27, 2012 and February 15, 2013 respectively.
