Naqvi's in Amroha have been residents since 1190's A.D.Amroha and people from Amroha,India are mostly Naqvis due to the reason that they are decedents Hazrat Sharfuddin Shah Wilayat (A true decedent of Imam Ali Al-Naqi),who was highly respected religious figure in India during the early ages of Islam in the Indian subcontinent.Majority of Amrohvie Muslims are Naqvi,Shia and Sunni both.The Amrohvies are highly respected in India as well as in Pakistan. In1947 saw the separation of most Amrovhi families. One batch, abandoning all that they had, migrated to Pakistan, whiles the other finding it difficult to leave their beloved land, stayed in Amroha.Those who migrated to Pakistan from Amroha formed an Anjuman-i-Saadat-e-Amroha. This organization has, since its creation, catered to the literary and social needs of the Amrohvis.
