We are members of the Catholic Youths Organisation of Nigeria from St. Patrick's Parish, Ikot Ansa, Calabar.
We have concern for the whole human person made up of body, mind and spirit and we organize spiritual, social, cultural, educational and athletic activities in an attempt to respond to the interests and needs of individual members.
As young Catholics, we in St. Patrick's are unique in our own way and we distinguish ourselves in like manner through our creativity and innovations, hard work, team spirit and leadership roles.
We encourage self respect, respect for our neighbor, respect for the Church and it's teachings and respect for the our environment/society.
Our main objectives are:
To foster spiritual growth, positive mental attitude and physical fitness of members through our activities;
To promote love and unity among Catholic youths, as well as bring under one umbrella all youth based associations in the Catholic Church;
To promote Catholic identity through inculcation of Catholic doctrines and practices as contained in the traditions and teachings of the Catholic Church;
To support the constituted authorities of the Church and the Church's missionary endeavor.
Our motto "Let your light shine" (Matthew 5:16) is not just a motto, but it is the strength of CYON members and group.
