This group aims to help trace lost family members and the natural parents of ANYONE who was put up for adoption, or just abandoned! This is extremely difficult if you don't have the birth mother's name. You can apply to Children's Social services for your adoption file. In the US you need to contact the agency who dealt with your case.

In the UK, some electoral rolls are available on a pay-as-you-go basis. Ancestry in the UK can help with their Old Phone Directory database. Building a family tree there is also a possible way to find relatives, who might know something.
