The Carleton University Firearms Association (CFA) is dedicated to training its members in the safe operation, storage and transportation of firearms for recreational purposes. It is also a place for firearms enthusiasts, hunters, and recreational target shooters to gather and socialize.

We believe that while our right to bear arms is not protected by the Charter it is protected by the common law of Canada and that there is a clear tradition of firearms use and ownership in Canada.

Our goals:

To train our members in the safe and secure operation, transportation and storage of firearms;

To raise awareness about the right to bear arms, and the benefits an armed populous provides to a safe and civil democracy;

To increase the public's understanding of firearms to help break the barriers of fear and eliminate the dangers of unsafe operation, storage and transportation.

Caveat:

This group is not intended to glorify any kind of violence, death, vigilantism, or other illegal or unsafe use of firearms. We do and our intent is to at all times comply with the laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario and we encourage our members and the public to do the same.

Any activities counter to this statement by any group members will result in immediate correction by the group executive and or removal from the group or club as the executive determines. In regards to the facebook group we reserve the authority to remove any posts or other submissions which run counter to the Caveat.
