USC’s mission is to foster a greater sense of unity among Sint Maarteners living, working and/or studying in The Netherlands. From this unity, we believe that we can affect change, not only in the perception of Sint Maarteners as we are viewed by the Dutch, but in the perception of the younger professional generation as we are viewed by the island population itself.

Membership Requirements:
If you are applying to this group or if you intend to invite individuals to this group, please be sure that you/they meet the following requirements for approval of the membership application:
1. Must be from Sint Maarten (this does not mean born on the island, but that you have lived a substantial amount of time on the island).
2. Must currently reside in The Netherlands, whether in an academic or professional capacity.
3. Must be between the ages of 17 – 35.

Group Guidelines:
1. Be active. No idea or discussion topic will be shot down, once it is professional and is in line with the group's mission.
2. Respect is of the UTMOST importance. Any posts containing name-calling, blatant discrimination (be it for race, religion, sexual orientation or gender) and disrespect for one another will be deleted and you will be removed from the group with prejudice.
3. Professionalism with regards to discussions about on-going issues and project work, particularly as it pertains to external individuals, is mandatory. Any name-calling and profanity regarding individuals that we are trying to appeal to will NOT be tolerated.
4. Confidentiality is a key component to the success of USC’s project work. If a particularly sensitive subject is under debate, please do not share it outside of the group’s membership.
5. If you have any grievances with any members of USC, do not retaliate or react within the public forum. Privately contact either of the founders and mediation will continue from there.
6. Advertising within the group IS permitted, however, it will only be permitted on Thursdays, and you may only post your advertisement once. When someone reacts on it, your post will move to the top of the group. Any spamming will not be tolerated and extra posts will be deleted. If it is school-related (surveys etc), we will be hosting a special document where you can send us the information and group members can follow along there.

Above all: Have fun and enjoy the discussion!
