Welcome to Essex LINKS
This group is for anyone interested in the St John Ambulance division/student society - Essex LINKS based at the University of Essex, Colchester.
Our society revolves around first aid training, providing first aid cover for events and going to the bar.
We commonly do first aid duties every Wednesday afternoon on the sports fields or Friday and Saturday nights in the Students' Union nightclubs as well as other duties around the campus and beyond such as other sporting events. We also have the opportunity to help out on county and national duties for various events including the London Marathon, V festival, Southend airshow and lots of other events that have a large number of people involved.
We hold regular meetings during term time which cover various aspects of first aid training, pratise of skills and team building.
Our society also holds various social's throughout the year which everyone is welcome to take part in. These have previously included bowling, meals in town, the annual summer BBQ, nights out on campus and a trip to the bar after every Monday meeting.
We will be actively recruiting new members at freshers and refreshers fairs but that does not stop you from getting in touch sooner to express an interest or request more information. Even if you are not new to the University of Essex you are quite welcome to join us.
