Salams all, I have been thinking for a while to start an activity for Muslim Children in Southend. I wanted to have something which I did not just pull out of thin air but something that had been tried and tested. Last month during a conversation Aldona Majewska mentioned Muslim Scouts and I jumped to the idea. Why Scouts? Because it is an international activity, tried and tested, it has firm guidelines and because there is already the UK Muslim Scout Fellowship who are willing to help us.
I have been in contact with Syed Miah National Development Officer, Muslim Scout Fellowship who has been very helpful and is willing to visit us and show us a presentation on what Scouting is all about.
I now need Volunteers to help me run it and children with supportive parents who would like to join. We plan to have the 3 main groups
6-8 year old Cubs
8-10 year old Beavers and
10-14 year old Scouts
We can later extend to the 10-25 year old group but I was told to start with this first.
